A Study of Teotl
A 13-week live study devoted to relationship, symbol, creative practice, and the living expressions of Teotl.
Founding Cohort · Live on Zoom- Recording available for limited time
Before we attempt to define the sacred, organize it, or claim over it, we learn to approach it. We observe and listen. We notice how it moves through symbol, story, the natural world, the body, and our everyday lives.
A Study of Teotl is a thirteen-week live gathering for those who wish to move beyond collecting information and begin cultivating a lived relationship with what they study.
Instead of approaching Teotl as a distant collection of deities to memorize, we will encounter Teotl through presence, reflection, movement, creativity, reciprocity, and the many relationships through which existence reveals itself.
This is the first formal course of study within Cihuateotcalli.
Within Each Gathering
Learn. Make. Witness.
Each two-hour gathering remains familiar from week to week.
Study 40 minutes
We begin with a foundational teaching explored through philosophy, story, symbolism, Nahuatl language, codices, and observation.
Experience & Create 40 minutes
The teaching moves out of the intellect and into creative practice.
Through art-making, writing, reflection, or another experiential process, participants give form to what they are encountering.
No artistic experience is required.
Integration 40 minutes
We return to the circle to share what arose (if you feel called to share).
Questions, reflections, creative work, and lived experiences become part of the study. Through witnessing one another, individual understanding expands into collective conversation.
