This piece captures the quiet yet powerful moment of preparation before the dance. The image shows my feet as I tie on my Ayayotes, which are sacred seed pods bound to the ankles to create sound in Mexica (Aztec) dance traditions. The act of tying them is both physical and ceremonial, a gesture of readiness for the Mitotilisli, the ritual dance that connects us to the sacred four directions. This print honors the moment  when intention takes root and the body prepares to move in prayer.
